Water treatment for hospitals and healthcare

Healthcare sites can have several water requirements within one facility. Domestic supply, firewater and specialist equipment should each have a defined duty and quality specification before treatment is selected.

Plan around the site

Set the operating brief.

  • Identify critical uses and their separate quality and continuity requirements.
  • Connect source analysis, treatment barriers, storage and distribution.
  • Agree verification, monitoring and operating responsibilities for the application.

Project context

Related project records.

The King Salman records describe linked borehole-filtration and RO design stages. St Barnabas is classified as a river/dam-water design. These are proposal records; completed delivery and current operating results are not established.

Useful answers

Questions for the project brief.

Is drinking-water quality enough for all hospital equipment?

The equipment or clinical application may specify a different water quality. Those requirements must be identified separately from the domestic supply brief.

How do the two King Salman records relate?

Both belong to the borehole-water treatment design. One describes the borehole stage and the other a proposed reverse-osmosis stage, using different treatment technologies.
