What to gather before sizing a water plant

Your water source, analysis, flow and intended use create a useful design brief.

A plant capacity starts with the duty it needs to serve. Gather average and peak demand, the hours of operation, source availability and future requirements. Keep the units explicit: a daily demand and an hourly rate describe different aspects of the operating profile.

Representative water analysis identifies the parameters treatment must address. Share the intended use and any process-water specification, together with the existing storage, power, site access and distribution arrangements. If a figure is unknown, record it as unknown so the assessment can identify the next step.

Brief the project.

Use the information you have to start a conversation. The source, demand and final-use requirements can then be refined for the site.
